Sunday November 10

We woke up to sunshine, which always helps.  We spent a pleasant day walking around Nottingham, seeing the sights within reach of our hotel.

The main square where they were setting up for a huge Christmas fair.

Some buildings we passed by in our wanderings.

Of course a visit to Nottingham has to include Robin Hood!

Nottingham has the biggest system of caves in Britain, and they are all man-made.  They are built into the sandstone, for example behind this pub is a series of rooms in the cliff.  There are hundreds of caves built under the city.

We wanted to tour the castle, but it is under major reconstruction inside and out.

Overall, a much better impression of Nottingham today.  All of the photos taken on these quiet streets were only a few blocks from the busy main square.
