It's Friday! It has turned out to be a gray day with intermittent rain. We had a continental breakfast at the hotel, then packed up and walked down to the train station. We arrived over an hour before departure time. English train stations are always quite cold, as they are open to the platforms, and finding a place to sit is almost impossible. I guess people don't linger too long at the stations, but Nottingham is fairly large and not counting the coffee shop seating, it boasts a grand total of 4 benches.
Anyway, it was just over two hours on the train. We ran a bit late as we were diverted around two stations due to flooding, which slowed us down. It is much worse than on the trip up 6 days ago.
We haven't seen any news reports, we've barely turned on a TV since we've been here, but I would say it looks pretty devastating. Thankfully It looks like the rain will let up for the next few days.

Our hotel is in the Brewhouse district. It is a totally revitalized little area of hotels, pubs, restaurants and leisure activities such as bowling, cinema and indoor mini golf. We had dinner at a brew pub and sat right above the vats. I look forward to exploring it in daylight!
