We decided to start the day at the Tower of London.  It was a bit overcast this morning...

We were so organized, got on the Bakerloo line at Picadilly and went to transfer trains at Embankment.  That is when we discovered that both the Circle and the District lines are closed this weekend.  Change of plans, a Tube employee told us what bus to catch, and at what stop.  Turned out she sent us to the wrong side of the street.  This photo gives you an idea of what the weather was like by the time we finally got on a bus - 45 minutes after we left the hotel...lots of wind to go with the rain.  Photo taken from the upper deck of the bus.

There is so much history here!  The Royal Mint used to be on the premises, executions, the Ravens, the Crown Jewels.

We had some great views of the Tower Bridge.

About 150 people (employees and their families) live within the walls of the Tower of London.

This is part of the ancient Roman wall, built around Londinium in 200 AD.

We took the bus to Trafalgar Square to see Lord Nelson's Column and the many multitudes of people.

Canada House is right on the square, I always feel a little thrill when I see the maple leaf.

We went to Steak & Co. for dinner.  When you order, you chose what flavour of butter, salt and sauce you want.  Your steak arrives at the table sizzling on a hot stone.  It is your job to slice it and cook each piece on the stone in a bit of butter with salt and sauce, then enjoy!

We were absolutely stuffed after dinner!  It was a great day, we learned lots and Brad saw parts of the Tower that he hadn't seen before.  A success despite the weather.
